Effective September 3rd, 2026
Preqin has updated its policy for how data is exported from Preqin Pro for users who access the platform through the Dartmouth's subscription. This change supports Preqin's data governance and compliance requirements.
What is changing? Direct data exports from Dartmouth's subscription will no longer be available. Requests to download data must be submitted using the Academic Data Export Request Form.
What is not changing? Full access to Preqin Pro's web interface remains the same. You can continue to search, analyze, and evaluate funds, investors, firms, deals, and performance data within the platform. Downloading is not required to work with the data, so you can explore everything you need on the platform before deciding what to export.
How to request data? If you need data outside the platform for research or coursework, please submit a request using the Academic Data Export Request Form. Email your request directly to our Preqin representative.
- Fewer than 25,000 rows: reviewed and processed through Preqin's standard request workflow.
- More than 25,000 rows: may require additional review.
Approved requests may take up to two weeks to process, depending on complexity and demand. To help ensure research timelines are met, requests should be submitted as early as possible. Please submit requests as early as possible when working toward project or research deadlines.
