For Dartmouth Students, Faculty & Staff:
If you are unable to access the full text of an article and you are on campus, (1) make certain you are connected to the Dartmouth Network via Dartmouth Secure or via direct ethernet connection.
If you are off-campus, you will need to authenticate using one of the options on the Off-Campus Access page.
If you still cannot access the article: Search for the article in Summon or Google Scholar. Summon will automatically invoke our link resolver which will see if the article is available directly from the journal web site or another article supplier, such as ProQuest, EbscoHost, or JSTOR, etc. If you use Google Scholar, look for the "Get It @ Dartmouth" link, which will invoke our link resolver. When using Google Scholar, it may also provide an alternative link to an open access copy.
You may need to request the article via DartDoc if Dartmouth does not have access to the article.
For Dartmouth Alumni:
If you can find the full text of article in the Alumni Digital Library, you can download it. Databases worth checking are ProQuest, JSTOR, and Project Muse. You can also search for the article at scholar.google.com to see if an open access copy is available. Contact Reference if you need assistance.
For those not affiliated with Dartmouth
To access full text online, you will need to be on campus to use one of the Library's computers. Another option when you are on campus is to connect your computer to the Dartmouth Library Public wireless network. Reference Librarians will be glad to help you try to track down the article if you need help.
If you are off-campus, you will not be able to access any of the online content licensed by Dartmouth. You can always try to search for the article using Google Scholar to see if there is an open access copy posted. The Dartmouth College Library cannot email articles to you. Please contact your local library's interlibrary loan department if you are unable to visit Dartmouth.
